06 Nov 2008: Vet Practice is Top Dog
Established in the North East for over 50 years, and ran by husband and wife team, Graham and Heather Chambers, Blythman and Partners is one of the most trusted, family-owned Veterinary Practices of the North East. Each branch has a distinctive personality, and embodies a wholesome warmth and friendly atmosphere that sometimes escapes franchise operations. A new addition to their numbers, Heddon-on-the-Wall, marks their eighth branch and continues a regional expansion and employment strategy, which welcomes new members of staff local to the region and highlights the success the practice has enjoyed in recent years.
Recognised as community spirited organisation, Blythman and Partners run numerous community led activities throughout the year, and their ever popular free, family Open Days can involve children's entertainers, free pet health checks and competitions, and continue to attract large crowds. For the remainder of 2008 they have two Open Days planned, one at their new Heddon branch in Newcastle on the 22nd November and a Christmas Open Day, hosted by Galaxy FM's Breakfast Show presenter, Karen, on the 13th December at the Hebburn branch near Gateshead.
The practice also operates generous charitable schemes and works closely with the Dogs Trust. This years Christmas campaign 'Santa for Strays' hopes to raise money for local cat rescue centre, Safehaven Cat Rescue, providing food, warmth and a home for stray cats at Christmas.
As one of only a limited number of recognised Veterinary Nurse Training Centres approved by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in the region, Blythman and Partners are highly respected, and many of the North East's graduates are able to get valuable hands on experience through their graduate placement scheme.
Senior Partner, Graham Chambers said, "Blythman and Partners is going from strength to strength and we are all thrilled that to be able to open a new branch and look forward to getting to know the local community well."
Our success is down to our brilliant staff who continuously show their dedication and compassion, they build strong relationships with clients which ensures we provide service that's not only professional but is also supportive, many of our clients have trusted us for decades and our challenge is to never let them down. Our 24 hour emergency service is testament to our dedication to the community a service that is available to every pet owner in an emergency, whether they are our clients or otherwise."
When asked about the future of veterinary industry, Graham commented "The current economic climate will prove tough for even the most affluent pet owner, any responsible practice must be able to predict and accommodate greater demands, we are currently offering a neutering service for only £5 to prevent future hardship and urge our clients to take pet insurance. We have a long-standing relationship with Pet Plan, one of the UK's leading pet insurance providers, such cover helps to protect our clients against unnecessary financial concerns, which is the last thing they need when faced with the stress of worrying over a much loved friend.
"Although this is a transitional economic period we are positive about the future and have much more planned for 2009. We are expecting another successful and interesting year."
Blythman and Partners is one of the leading Veterinary Practices in the North East, running eight surgeries throughout the region. For information call (01661) 854699 or visit www.blythmanandpartners.co.uk. The 24 hour emergency number is (0191) 284 1711.
