Microchipping: a legal requirement

It is now a legal requirement to have any dog over the age of eight weeks microchipped in England and Wales. From April 2016 onwards, it is compulsory to not only chip your dog, but also to keep your contact details up to date.

The chipping itself is a harmless process, with a tiny microchip inserted under the dog’s skin. This chip contains information about the owners and their contact details, increasing the likelihood of returning your pet to you should it become lost.

For more information about how to microchip your dog, contact us today.
