March Patient of the Month
Teddy 🧸 Little 14-week-old Teddy visited our Gosforth Hospital branch recently to be treated for possibly consuming a toxin. After possibly consuming rat poison, Teddy present with symptoms of vomiting and lethargy.
The consumption of rat poison can stop a dog’s blood from clotting, which may result in internal haemorrhaging, pale gums, extreme weakness, coughing blood, breathing issues, or blood in stools.
We were thankful to find that Teddy’s blood results were clear and are so happy to see him going home with his sibling Misty.
As it is Poison Awareness Month, we take this opportunity to emphasise the importance of monitoring what your pets ingest; whilst we were so happy to see Teddy making a swift recovery, this may not always be the result.
Toxin ingestion can often be life threatening.
As Teddy is a member of our Wellness Plan his family saved 15% discount off Teddy’s unexpected visit.
